South Dakota Diabetes Coalition
The South Dakota Diabetes Coalition (SDDC) is a volunteer-based organization comprised of professionals and citizens who are passionate about preventing diabetes and empowering those with diabetes to successfully manage their health. The SDDC consists of four diverse workgroups: Advocacy, Patient Education, Professional Education, and Public Awareness. The SDDC offers a quarterly newsletter, SDDC Connections, and holds two conferences each year. One specific project they recently implemented is the continuation of the Virtual Nurse Model for schools that do not have nurses present to administer insulin.
